Tour spots

Brescia
Brescia is today with her energy and dynamism a modern and well organized city, geared above all to the world of work, but her notable historical and artistic treasures and her picturesque corners make her a centre of great interest and importance. The most obvious characteristics are the result of changes made between the XVIII and XIX centuries, but strolling through the centre of Brescia is like leafing through the pages of a history book. Linear modern buildings exist side by side with the dynamism of the fashionable main street, the colorful and typical liveliness of alley ways and thoroughfares, the splash of fountains, the majesty of palaces and ancient residences, the tranquility of cloisters ,the devout silence of churches, the treasures conserved in museums.

The City Museum
The City Museum, unique in its design and location - a monastic complex of Lombard foundation - and with display areas covering 14,000 m², offers a journey through Brescia’s history, art and spirituality from prehistoric times to the present day (www.bresciamusei.com).

Garda Lake
Garda Lake, the most Mediterranean of the Alpine Italian lakes, shows itself in its wonderful surrounding of natural luminosity and colors: a unique holiday spot, in all seasons. Its shores, studded with villages and small towns, add the charm of a built up landscape to the beauty of its rich natural environment, and the spell of ancient findings of Roman settlements, medieval fortresses, imposing buildings and noble villas. With its Romanesque parish churches, its Baroque-style churches and its sanctuaries, with its monasteries and hermitages, lake Garda shows all the different aspects of its personality, even as an incomparable spiritual place (www.lakegarda.uk.com).
